Background

The IKANO Group is a group of companies with Scandinavian origin owned by the Kamprad family. Ingvar Kamprad founded IKEA in Älmhult, Sweden in the 1940's.

The Group is active with-in Finance, Real Estate, Asset Management, Retail, Insurance and Venture Investments. IKANO was originally part of IKEA. During the 1970's the activities grew from administration of real estate and financial services io also include insurance programmes for IKEA.
The initial objective was to gain expertise from internal activities and to subsequently market these externally in such a way that the knowledge gained was put to good use.

IKANO became an independent group in 1988. Since then activities have expanded throughout most European countries with emphasis on Scandinavia, and into new, but related fields of business.
